Since 2020, Serbian-Australian diaspora research projects have been undertaken by Danica Majstorović Eather alongside a team of volunteers. Two Digital Image Collection projects which are in their final stages of completion are: Serbian-Queensland Diaspora Memories for the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) and the Yugoslav-Mount Isa Diaspora Memories for Isa in Images, Mount Isa City Library.
For the SLQ project the volunteers were: Bebe Majstorović, Jelenko Dragišić, Maja Majstorović Eather, Malissa Johnson (née Zaklan), Michael Eather, Mirjana Dragišić (née Božičković) and Rada Milovanović.
In 2023, the development of a third Digital Image Collection at national level was commenced, being the 1960 Australia Visit of King Petar II Karadjordjević.
From 5-7 June 2024, the ICARUS – International Centre for Archival Research – convention took place in Novi Sad, Serbia. Hosted by the Archives of Vojvodina and the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad, the convention topic was Archives and Research – Between the Analog and the Digital. Danica presented a paper Digital Image Collections: A case study involving Serbian diaspora documentary heritage research projects in Australia. The findings, challenges and opportunities of the above projects were overviewed. Link to full program on ICARUS website.
